Russell Johnston died yesterday. I'd never heard of him, and I didn't recognize his picture. He was from the Isle of Skye, which I've never been to. It's part of Scotland; I've been to Scotland.
It's like England, only more so. What I mean by that is the mountains are a little taller, and the valleys a little deeper. The winter days are a little darker, the summer days a little brighter. It's politically incorrect to label a type of people, but the Scots seemed pretty short to me. I apologise for that generalisation. The movie The Queen has some great shots taken in Scotland, it really is like that. The other scenes-of-Scotland film I enjoy is Hitchcock's The 39 Steps... yeah, granted, it's in black 'n' white, but I think that suits it. Great bleak shots of the Scottish countryside.
